12 Menswear Outfits From The 2023 Met Gala That Did Not Disappoint

The annual Met Gala is one of the most highly anticipated events in the fashion industry. It is a night where celebrities, designers, and fashion enthusiasts come together to celebrate the art of fashion. Each year, the event has a different theme, and for the 2023 Met Gala, the theme is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty."

Karl Lagerfeld was one of the most iconic and influential designers in the fashion industry, albeit controversy of his, at times, outrageous statements. He passed away in 2019, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for years to come. The theme of the 2023 Met Gala pays tribute to Lagerfeld's incredible career and his impact on the fashion industry.

The black suits and classic menswear styles have stood firmly in the background while haute couture womenswear takes centre stage on the famous stairs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. However, in recent years, some challengers have taken the baton and run with it! This year is no different with Taika Waititi, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Pedro Pascal among the men making head-turning appearances.

Take a look and our favourite menswear styles, and let us know if there are any we missed!

A highlight of Bad Bunny, Stormzy & Alton Mason Outfit Details

Bad Bunny premiered a significant design style with a backless suit jacket. Stormzy, a known watch collector & enthusiast, was seen wearing the extremely rare Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/110P-001. Alton Mason, the first Black male model to ever walk in a Chanel show, channeled the Chanel Bride look with veil details and a bouquet of flowers made from fabrics.

With the Met Gala taking all media attention we want to highlight that, despite the positive parts of his legacy, Lagerfeld has also gone down in history as one of the most controversial and outspoken people in all of fashion history. His controversial takes on subjects like fatphobia, migrants, the #MeToo movement and homosexuals' rights to adopt children, have left many celebrities and spectators of the fashion event of the year with a bitter taste of this theme's tribute.

Stay tuned for a breakdown of the sustainability aspects of what we've seen on the stairs for the Met Gala 2023. Is re-wearing vintage gowns enough to be considered sustainable? Let's discuss.
